Who We Are
Life House Ministries is a Brisbane-based discipleship and spiritual warfare training ministry, founded and led by David and Carolyn Thomas. We exist to make Christians and the Church more effective, to prepare the Body of Christ for the end times, and to reach the world with the Gospel of the Kingdom - through books, training courses, direct ministry into local churches, and a growing network of like-minded disciples across the nations.
We are not a mega-ministry, and we are not an event machine. We are a discipleship environment, and everything we do is shaped by that conviction. Disciples are not produced by programmes; they are formed life-on-life, over time, in environments that look more like a household than a conference hall.
That is what Life House has always been - and what it continues to be.
David & Carolyn Thomas
David Thomas has been in ministry since 1987. Across nearly four decades, he has pastored churches in South Africa and Australia, facilitated discipleship training courses in multiple nations, and written books that have grown directly out of his pastoral experience.
His teaching centres on three areas he sees as both urgent and often neglected in the Church today: spiritual warfare, discipleship, and the end times. He is the author of the seven-book The Art of Personal Spiritual Warfare series, as well as Reconciliation, Deliverance, and Ministry, A Boy's Rite of Passage: From Boys to Men, and the free resource Finding a Discipleship Environment. His podcast series, Spiritual Warfare - Life House Church, is available on Spotify, iTunes, and other major platforms.
Carolyn Thomas has stood alongside David throughout the journey of ministry - as a co-labourer, intercessor, teacher in her own right, and co-developer of the training courses and materials delivered through Life House and Calvary Bible School. Together, David and Carolyn lead the ministry and its training arm with a shared commitment to authentic discipleship, honest pastoral care, and the kind of environment where real transformation takes place.
David and Carolyn have been married since 1986. They are parents and grandparents, and they regard both callings as among the most significant and sacred ministries of their lives.
Nearly Four Decades. One Conviction.
Life House Ministries did not begin with a grand strategy. It began with a call from the Lord and a desire to meet a real need.
It came from watching men awakened to their God-given calling at a boot camp return to church environments that quietly shut them down. It came from watching new believers set free by the Gospel without anyone equipped to walk them into wholeness. It came from watching disciples hungry to step into the family business of the Kingdom offered a deck chair on a cruise liner and told to enjoy the ride.
Out of frustration came questions. Out of questions came books. Out of books came courses. Out of the courses, a school is emerging. All of it is centred on teaching others what it means to live as soldiers of Christ in the midst of a multi-dimensional war.
The ministry has taken different shapes in different seasons - local churches in South Africa and Australia, men's camps and boot camps, discipleship training schools in homes and church halls across multiple nations. The shape has changed, but the conviction has not.
Life House Ministries is the current expression of that conviction.
The Vision
We exist for the life of John 10:10b - and against everything in John 10:10a. Our mission is to make Christians and the Church more effective, prepare the Body of Christ for the hour that is coming, and reach the nations with the only message that has ever truly set humanity free. We pursue this through discipleship that forms soldiers, training that equips spiritual combat medics, and a Gospel that advances the Kingdom - one life, one family, and one nation at a time.
